In a quiet village on the border between Portugal and Spain, there’s a bar with its windows open to the mountain and its feet planted in two countries. Welcome to Bar Salto — the first natural wine bar in Extremadura. Built where the old smuggling trail once crossed, Salto is a place for gathering, sharing, and tasting what this land has to offer.

Our food is plant-forward, clean, healthy and always changing with the season. Everything we serve is organic where possible, seasonal, and full of life. It’s food that feels good for the body and for the planet.
We pour low-intervention wines, with a special love for Portuguese and Spanish producers. Taste the local: São Mamede and Extremadura wines are always on the list — fresh, wild, and born just a few kilometres away.
We’re working toward a low-waste kitchen, keeping our footprint low by composting, cooking simply, and refusing anything that doesn’t align with our values. We don’t sell water in bottles, but give it free for you to enjoy.
